yes, I realize what they actually are, it doesn't mean that his components actually flow together well.At least with Aegislash and Klefki you can get a good feel for their specific theming and influences (like "Oh, Aegislash mixes the concept of sentient magical swords with haunted armor, neat", or "Ah, so Klefki combines the old superstition of fairies stealing small objects, and ironically juxtaposes that by taking the form of a keyring, clever.") just by looking at them. They speak closely to cultural ideas that are still prevalent in our modern fiction. Meltan is just a few component associated with electrical engineering that happens to have a head that's way too large and a body that feels derivative of Ditto's. Oh, and it's a mythic for no good reason.
Anyway I'm ashamed because his favorite ice type is my favorite Pokemon, and now I feel dirty for having even slightly similar taste as a massive fucking douche.
