Nitpicking is, by definition, being overly fussy about insignificant details. It changes from person to person, so I can't really say whether this is it or not.

But I'll say this: if older games could have dynamic lighting, there is zero reason for newer games to not have it.

No. Actually I haven't played a pokemon game since ORAS and I have no intention of playing Let's Go (becuse I won't buy a Switch until Nintendo shows that Gen 8 will reverse the series's trend of shitty games)
I'm just tired of seeing threads complaining about nothing. The game's mechanics are shit, they've removed everything, and even jump animations are lazy.

We haven't seen the game at night time yet, and no one's confirmed or denied that the cycle is in, either.
But knowing GameFreak, it's not in, and we'll just have to deal with the fact that Pokemon like Alolan Rattata can now just magically evolve during the daytime or not evolve at all.

Sure there is. The reason is, LGPE is a rushed cashgrab game on a new system. They haven’t bothered porting anything from the old engine to the new one yet.

I don’t know why people care so much about this game. It’s not supposed to have good graphics.
