Pokémon that you wish didn't suck.

I still don't understand why it couldn't have a mane of ACTUAL fire instead of normal, fire-evocative hair.

The whole "fire instead of hair" thing has been done, I guess. I think it would look pretty silly to just have fire around it's head.

It apparently is actual fire. It burns if you touch it in Amie/Refresh and the Pokedex calls it a "mane of fire".

So it's apparently fire that looks like hair.

You mean suck as in design?
It's bland I think, but I like it. This daimonji (大) mane is done very nicely. I actually dislike Litleo for its pug face.
