Kukui fights you with the starter that's strong against yours at the league for obvious reasons, as he already had all three before the beginning of the story. He's not a rival, he doesn't go through a journey like you and Hau with the third starter, he's a professor and a seasoned trainer and, no matter what starter the MC picks, he still has all three, including Incineroar, which he can use when he actually fights as Masked Royal to satisfy your autistic obsession. What the players picks at the beginning has NO bearings on what Kukui already had before that point. This is proven by:
>Kukui canonically using all starters in the Battle Tree (which completely disproves your theory, no matter how much you screech about it) >Kukui using the same starter line as Ash (the anime MC), proving there's more than one Litten in Alola >Official, Game Freak art showing the protagonist with Incineroar, the closest thing we have to a canon starter in Gen 7tldr; Kukui isn't an argument when discussing what starter the MC gets
