>>36716784I played hoenn, I liked Hoenn, the RS remakes were a disappointment in dozens of ways that were mentioned this thread already. I've bought almost all the 3DS games aside from the newest one so far, and I can tell you the reason why they're a huge disappointment doesn't have anything to do with them being 3D.
All of the 3DS games seem to have favored including "Fancy new models" at the expense of more content. Each of the new games feels easier, more phoned in, or less content in favor of "Well we worked on all these new environments and look how fancy they look, that's better than more content right?".
If there was a 3DS game with as much content as B2/W2 or Emerald then I'd probably like it, but if anything GF is going the opposite way these days. Once I heard that quote where one of the creators addressed the question about why there was no battle frontier in ORAS, I was instantly turned off by all the newer games until I heard decent enough reviews by everyone else to warrant buying another one.
They're going in a direction I don't like these days; instead of trying to be fresh, all the games lately revolve around endless genwun pandering and "Lets do old thing, but do it slightly different" and "Well lets casuallize the game more, kids won't like it if we don't make it easier". Bitch I played the original games, the more hand holdy you get with the games the more turned off I am. The last game where there really felt like there was an excess amount of shit to do and it didn't feel like the game was just over as soon as you beat the Elite Four was B2/W2. Its the over casualization, the pandering as all of the games keep coming back to kanto these days in such a boring shit way, and the laziness that gets to me.
