that same generation,however, introduces scizor, forretress, and heracross, all of which having had at least some time in the ou metagame
as for bug as a type, it enjoys a lot of good resistances defensively in return for bad weaknesses, although personally I think offensively it should be at least neutral or possibly even strong against fairy type
