>>36723242I liked how her outfit adapted her game designs. It kept the general red and black color scheme of her late build concept art and mixed in elements from her sprite. Using the art as a starting point, the more formal, folded collar from the sprite was added, the belted robe was combined with the red "jacket" to create a cohesive double-breasted coat that was long enough to work like the skirt did, and the leggings and boots were combined. The white leggings added some color balance and matched the child version's dress, and the badge from the sprite was adapted into the buttons on the coat, all of which looked like the Marsh Badge.
The end result was an outfit unique from the game and art but highly reminiscent of them, with an added touch of authority to highlight how dangerous she was. It's something we didn't really see much of from the rest of the Kanto Gym Leaders, or for that matter any of the other leaders going forward in the anime.
