So, with all this Eeveeshilling, an ''important'' Eevee is supposed to appear in the anime and I have no doubt that it will have the special LGPE moves.
So I have a theory, unlike Nebby/Poipole, Ash will catch this Eevee later on and it'll be outside its ball on its head for the remainder of the Pokemon FRANCHISE due to its status as a secondary mascot.
With less and less Pokemon introduced each gen, Ash would only have to catch 4 Pokemon so the remaining 70+ can be spread out.
