gen 6 while dropping many features brought pokemon back to the core audience and was very successful.
I don't condone all the bullshit but Kalos was still a fun time and ORAS was amazing if you ignore the handouts.
we need to look at games for what they are not what they could've been

mostly because of the 3ds success. Similarly any pokemon game on the Switch is going to sell billions, any Pokemon game on the GBA will sell peanuts.

I started actually playing Pokemon when I bought a 2DS on February this year. I bought Black2 and Y. I played Y first because I didn't think I'd like the 2d graphics that much but once I finished Y and a couple of months passed I played Black and it was honestly amazing. Last week I was considering restarting Y and banning my last party to make it interesting but I happened to come across a used Moon game for very cheap. I had read what /vp/ said about the game and I was skeptical but I wanted to play something. I'm at the pokemon league now and I've got to say that my honest opinion is that it's a great game on par with the others with many pleasant new features. My only complaint is that in some cut scenes you need to press a button for it to advance. I wouldn't have a problem if I could leave my DS and it going on.

That being said, I'm looking to the next one to buy now, what do you recommend?
