GUN
Dissatisfied with years if competitive greatness eluding him, and all of his prospective paramours departing to seek reliable men, Ash knew what he had to do. As the the shot echoed through the arena, the Charizard strained to hear his Trainer confirm his order. It never came.
Experts who examined the footage concluded that Alain was dead before he hit the ground. In the chaos that ensued, no fewer than fifty of the spectators also suffered injuries, including one young supporter of the would-be Champion. Only a few of the rioters had actually seen Ash raise the firearm: many others feared a serial sniper or terrorist attack.
It took an hour for the enraged Charizard to retreat from the body of his master, and only after great duress. Deemed irrevocably insane due to tragedy, it met a fate similar to its master. The Greninja completely disappeared during the chaos, and with the inability for Psychic location, the search has been called off. Ash Ketchum was calmly lead from the arena, the weapon still on the ground, with his hat atop it.
While the victory initially was awarded to Alain in a tense and hushed ceremony, subsequent legal action during the trial of Mr. Ketchum forced the League to adjust its verdict of the match to 'Draw' and hold a runner-up match between the other semi-finalists. An unexpected offer for pro bono representation came from the National Rocket Association, who argued that Ash as well as Alain have both waived any responsibility for damages suffered or inflicted, as is standard for high-level Pokemon battles. Furthermore, as the calm attorney stated, "Pokemon tools such as whips, batons, and whistles are commonplace. My client has an unusual choice of tool, but there are no rules forbidding firearms either on the premises or in use during a sanctioned battle". With Ash's stunning acquittal, both Charizard and Greninja were deemed unable to battle, resulting in mutual defeat.
The Ketchum Loophole has subsequently been closed.
