It fails to feel like an adventure since they put way too much emphasis on lightheartness to the point they lack any tension or feeling of being antagonized, the ''evil'' team is intentionally a joke, the main ''villain'' just wanted to fuck off with her nihilegos and the ''consequences'' of other ultra beasts invading are negligible and they're quickly taken care of ,along with everyone being overly nice to you coupled with the silly dance super moves and trials and the comedy relief rotom dex it really feels like the target audience expectation was lovered and it's an objective step down from the other games. And that's not touching the other issues like the excessive handholding and railroading, the obnoxious overuse of cutscene interruption, the fact that every place of the game felt like going through a straight corridor, the focus on badly written characters like lillie shoehorned in the plot but never actually doing anything or solving her own issues for herself, instead being a pointless cheerleader the whole game while pretending they developed her with the z powered form bullshit.
