is there anything good in pokemon games with the first 1-2 generations

cant get the original first 3 starters without a cheat code and thats all i want so gay

i really prefer a first gen game. i wanna do the mmos but i dont do anything with pokemon after gen 2 so its hopeless? i kinda want to play the gamecube games but they have some gay elements to them and i dont wanna spend 100 bucks just to play those 2 games
