So, nearly 2 years after the debut of gen 7 what is your opinion on Z-moves? Do you think they were a good addition? Do you want them to be changed in gen 8? Or removed? Are they fine as is?

More power to gamefreak if they want to do per-gen mechanics to change in the combat. God knows I'm not going to say no to them attempting to escape the series stagnation. But just leaving them all in the game as you move onto the new mechanics is so fucking retarded. They needed to cut mega evolutions for gen 7, and the same for Z moves for future titles as well.

I liked gen 7 but the only time I used a z-move was ultra necrozma for z-draco meteor
they just aren't very fun or interesting, I don't mind when boss enemies use them but I don't think they worked very well
especially for competitive, it's really boring

I stopped using them after seeing each animation, even with those disabled you still have to watch the dance. I avoid using them in Battle Tree for this very reason.

They are useless for the vast majority of mons that need to run Scarf or recovery items.

The fact that they don't change Silvally's type is another failed execution.

Mega Evolution is at least fun to use and has more potential.
Z-Moves are always gimmicky one and done deals or panic buttons to get rid of certain threats. I would not personally miss them.

Really cancerous to the meta-game. In no way should I be punished for doing correct plays like switching a water type into a fire move, only to be hit by z-fire cancer that's 500BP and does 85% of my max HP.

Fuck Z moves. They make pokemon that were already extremely strong even stronger and make the power creep worse.

Even when they seem to know what they're doing, people tend to waste them. Even watching VGC that was often the case.

The usage of a Z-Move should be like the consummation of a relationship - you don't bust a nut inside them without knowing their intentions towards you.

Because Heatran has to charge Solar Beam first, meaning you can switch Gastrodon out on the charge turn. Z-Bloom Doom is instant

Mega Evolutions are also total garbage. You could try to argue that they help make certain Pokémon more relevant, but the same thing could be accomplished by making new evolutions or actually rebalancing the game instead of slapping this poorly thought out bandage on it.

Braindead KO buttons for the most part both worse than megas and gems

This. The mega evolution things is also made even worse because they gave mega evolutions to a bunch of Pokemon that didn't fucking need them. Now something they have been doing that I quite like is that they've been buffing certain Pokemon's stats over the last two gens, I'd like to see more of that. Another thing they could do to make certain Pokemon more relevant is maybe giving them another Hidden Ability, since there are Mons with subpar or shit abilities all around. Hopefully they do something like these in future gens instead of shoehorning in more stupid gimmicks
