Pokémon with weather changing abilities or moves can utilize those outside battle to change the town/route they are currently in.
Some areas won’t be accessible unless certain weather conditions are met which encourages players to return to pick up items later in the game when they have access to the weather they need.
These features were considered for Let’s Go but were ultimately moved into the 2019 games in an effort to keep Let’s Go a more basic entry for newer, younger, or lapsed fans.
But hey, this is surely all just speculation right?
