Diantha has the same stuff as any other champion. She's both a successful actress and a champion at the same time. She doesnt share the rotten logic of the elite surrounded by Lysandre, she refuses his ideas to his face, her views on life and herself are realistic, she's interested in Kalos legendary Pokemon and Mega Evolution. And thats all just from reading dialouges so what you did too.
She's more fleshed oout in the manga and anime. In fact she's one of the better portrayed champions in the anime but yes: the game doesnt give her much time. Its understandable though, XY was unfinished in many areas
