There's not even any point of mentioning that HGSS makes fire stones more readily available to you, making Flareon, Ninetales, and Arcanine viable. Or that HGSS makes Slugma available to you before the first gym. Or that the only fire type Pokemon from gen 1 and 2 not available to you in a timely manner before the initial elite four match are Houndour, Ponyta, Charmander, Moltres, and Ho-oh if you picked Silver. (Of course Ponyta is still available at the exact same level it was in gen 1, and unlike gen 1 where you find it with only two gyms to go, you find it in Johto with 8 gyms and the initial elite four match and even more to go, but bringing up the fact that Johto doesn't end at the same point as other games in the series starts a whole different shriekfest from you faggots.)
Making a grand total of 4 more fire types available to the player than there were in GS. Leaving only 3 fire lines (Houndour, Moltres and Charmander) totally unavailable until after the elite four.
