It sold so well, Masuda learned stripping shit out and dumbing it down was just fine to many retards and he's kept at it ever since trying to find the tipping point.

How? Gen 6 has far more varied and unique options. Gen 7 has the same few pieces of clothing with different colors a majority of which are locked behind Festival Plaza. Gen 7 also completely cut styles and overall has worse looking trainer models than the full ones in Gen 6. Gen 6 had more utility to it as well with PR videos Gen 7 had nothing like it until Alolan Photo Club. Plus every time you ride a Pokemon you have to change into fucking Nerf armor. Gen 7 did Trainer customization worse in every conceivable way.

Which rather demolished the arguments that they're doing quality over quantity now as it should've been much higher if that were true. It was slightly higher in Gen 7, but it was still well within statistical reason.

It's literally the fucking opposite. The games were hated by nostalgiafags, so Masuda thought that what were actually among his best games were a failure, so he decided to just give up, put less and less effort into every subsequent game, and shove in a load of Kanto references to appease those nostalgiafags, and it worked, so they kept doing it.

You nigger, gen 2 is the worst. Gens 3 and 5 are great. Heck gen 4 was a downgrade from gen 3, went from a decently paced tropical island and Kanto, to a stupid mountain based region and jogto again. Plus diamond and pearl are the slowest Pokémon games. HGSS are the only redeeming factors gen 4 has. The only worse gen is 2 which is slower and is only johto.

in any case gen 3 is probably the most diverse and creative gen, simply because of the introduction of orre and shadow types. Gen 1 2 and 5 aswell
