Honestly, I feel that Infernape just didn't do enough with its motifing. I think Incineroar's the current best as the more you look into the design and personality choices behind it, the more everything clicks.

Blaziken started the idea
Infernape recycles the typing but the theme was drastically different

Emboar recycles both Blaziken’s typing and Infernape’s oriental theme. It’s existence providing nothing new is the sole reason why people are sick of the typing reserved on starters. Infernape did nothing wrong
