If an event Pokémon is never made available to you via legitimate means then you should just sit down and accept that you're one of the people contributing to the rarity of the Pokémon by being unable to have it. Cheating to obtain it seriously cheapens the ownership and prestige of legitimate players.

No. The entire point is Pokémon is to collect. It is meant to be a prestigious thing to own a rare Pokémon. Preserving a good economy in which certain species are extremely rare and desirable is more important than your personal enjoyment of the game. Perhaps if you actually understood this you would learn to enjoy *not* having a rare Pokémon so that you could actually revere it for its rarity.

If nothing else you can always try to get something equally desirable to trade for it.

I partially agree, but at the same time I don't blame people who inject only one of each mythical they may be missing. What does bother me though is people who inject like a bajillion Arceus or shit like that.

This, and immersion autism, is why i don't like having legendary pokemon available in game anymore. Sure, when you're 8 and you run dialga palkia and giritina into the elite 4 you feel like a god. But when you remember that nearly everyone has one it loses its meaning. ORAS hoop gates were bullshit, being able to get so many different legendaries devalues having a backwards compatible system to migrate/bank pokemon up to there to complete a dex.
While i won't defend the bullshit of certain types of event only mons, i can't just look at all of the distributions and think "yeah this is fine"

The real prestige comes not by entering online at a certain moment and getting a shiny shit but by having the original cartdriges and games so that you can migrate, say, a shiny rayquaza you hunt in emerald or sapphire, migrate it to your original HGSS copy and then pokébanking it.

If everyone owns the same pikachu w/ a hat that doesn't make it rare. But to have the original migrated pokés, now that's something I respect.

It only takes one person to spread thousands of illegitimate Pokemon online. I can understand your sentiment OP but it's too easy to get literally any Pokemon you want without jumping through any hoops.
