Ash got the shit end of the stick. I liked the art design of the first gen Ash. Not just being a boomer. Other character are fine, but Ash looks like trash.

Animation looks fluid but the art style doesn't look great. Kinda like turning down visual settings for a higher framerate on a PC game.

I thought they got rid of the growing pokeballs after gen 3.
Then again i watched an episode and still heard the opening pokeball noise from OS, just way quieter than it used to be.

Ironically, starting with the SM anime they turned the framerate down to 24fps from the 30fps it was from DP to XY

That's literally how animation works, stupid. Simple things are easier to animate fluidly. Anime is also made on the smallest budgets possible, especially kiddy anime that airs every week forever, so it has to be even simpler.

I think it looks great. It's very subjective so people who liked XY might not like the drastic change to SM. I watched the first season but the story is really boring though that is not different from much of the anime.
