Seriously, I was buying merch before it even was announced that it was licensed here, almost imported the original game and was considering jailbreaking my 3DS for it, all that fun stuff. It's always so hard to defend it here though because people just point to the declining sales (as if Pokemon never experienced that or something) and goofy/objectively bad designs (I mean, some ARE supposed to look creepy), in short. Though admittedly I used to hate Cheeksqueek (and still dislike him?), partly because of the anime episode, partly because he's a literal ass. Not really Cuttincheez for some reason though.
My only real complaint is SOME of the RNG in the first game (since no trading exists); I actually am masochistic about it for the most part, but the fucking Crank-a-kai exclusives and getting the coins is a pain, it's the only time I've changed my 3DS's clock to abuse something. It could've taken me many months, potentially over a year to do it more legitimately if not, so I don't think it was wrong in that case.
