Beside the point. It was an actual dungeon you had to explore which is fun having to navigate through. At least that's how I felt when I played through blue for the first time a couple years ago.

the stress? the encounter rate is high but that's not unique to that cave alone. the layout is very simple with some parts actually being entirely optional and don't remember the battles being hard except maybe that one raticate. you don't use pikachu on the hiker, sure, but that's basic shit, no harder than brock anyway. this shit isn't dark souls, literal 3 year olds managed to play yellow back in the day

Aside from paid reviews, LGPE is a journalist's wet dream when it comes to a Pokemon game, so most of those bonus points are probably coming straight from their own garbage opinions rather than TPCi/NoA's Paycheck.

55 speed is a lot for early game. Comparatively your starter will either have 60 base speed(Ivysaur), 80 base speed(Charmeleon) or 58 base speed(Wartortle)
