Think about it from ash's perspective, anon. He doesn't care about anything besides Pikachu and his dream. His wanderlust is almost infinite. Even after he grows up, he's gonna spend majority of his life on the road, and never come home for months/years. I don't think anybody will be willing to hook up with this guy.

That's what I fucking hate about her character. She loves ash to the point that she would die for him. But what about ash? Would he do the same? Of course he won't. He'd chose his dream over serena any time of the day. And that's really sad. Romance is supposed to be 50/50 contribution from both the parties. In this case, it's a 100/0 from serena's side.

I won't exactly call it a loveless marriage, but a relationship where one of them is extremely passive and dormant. Ash is not much different than goku, here. If he does hook up with any girl, she would probably be the man in the relationship and handle everything while ash does literally nothing. And that's the logical progression of his character. He's a loser at everything besides pokemon.

It is a loveless marriage, Goku sees his wife less like a wife and more like one his companion like Krillin and Tian. While Chichi is clearly fed up with Goku but too prideful to leave. Chichi is by the worst heroine ever who is completely unsupportive and unreasonable.

Ash is vastly different than Goku. Only S/M Ash is closest to Goku and even he is much more smarter and rational than Goku. Originally Ash was more like characters such as Yusuke, Inu Yasha or Ranma. Those character has no interest in romance and only to seem to attracted to one girl whom they often bickers and argue.
