Best ending since DP, when Ash and Brock made their promises and split for the (pre-SM) last time. And by that, I mean Ash running into his house without knowing what he'd do next, the "And to our own way" text, and the extended credits both the original and the dub version. Unironically could've been the whole show's series finale and I would've been satisfied.

i liked that it had some story in between
i liked that ash was competent
i liked that he had a canon non-headcanon wife
i disliked that it ended and ended up with a "slice of life" anime

This, it truly felt like a definitive end to the series even if Ash lost the league. Saved the world in a massive battle, got the girl. The artstyle and tone of SM being so different almost makes it look like alternative continuity.

DP was better, especially the Sinnoh Leage

XY had good fights but was boring outside of that. Series would be a 10/10 if Ash brought his old Pokemon for the league. Would've been nice to see them in this animation style.
