The sad thing is though, that if you think about it, in theory Pokémon could be the most innovative futuristic real-life open world game in existance, it is literally a game in real life. The problem is they simply slapped a standart but stripped off Pokémon formula over it. Imagine if GO had main game like features plus features unique to the real life overworld. Or like real life quests like the ones in World of Warcraft were you can build groups with your friends to get multiplayer bonus and advanced Pokémon and Item trading networks. This game could easily be the biggest multimedia related thing and since Pokémon is so popular it would have the biggest player base in the fucking world.

The better question is who pays for it? Anyone in a city has constant access to free Pokéballs. Rural players have few Pokémon to buy them for, but it’s not that hard.

I only started playing again because my classmates from college seemed really into It. It's actually a pretty decent game now compared to when It came out and It's alot better played If you have friends to take out gyms and go on raids together. I'm honestly still shocked at how big this game still is,I regularly see groups of people around my college campus excitibly trying to catch mewtwos, like 20 something year old adults or hell even adults my parents age still playing this game and bragging about catching pokemon.This takes me back to my elementary school days.

as much as it is watered down, it's harmless especially nowadays when it has lost "flavor" status, so you got fun but harmless players, and it doesn't force you tutorials and cutscenes

Mobiles are perfect for RPGs not to mention you have games like Pocket Mortys which has basically all of the major mechanics of Pokemon.

Despite many original ones existing as well as console games being ported in particular the final fantasy games which are more menu based than Pokemon ever will be. You aren't really making a point for yourself you know

Maybe if you're a moron otherwise half the work is just scrolling and tapping and yeah anon, the fact that they work completely fine without any issue does mean that the platform is suitable for that genre.

In fact turn based RPGs in particular are designed in a way that they can be done on just about any kind of system.

my point isn't about putting a game in mobile, it's how mobile controls and function work, at most these ports are literally just playing them in mobile, without even considering things like the very little time you have for mobile games, controls, etc.
