They never really explained it, what exactly is a pokemon master anyway? Is it like, someone who has every pokemon or someone who's got a lot of badges or is like someone who's really good at training pokemon and battles? GF was always really vague on it.

not sure about easier, assuming FRLG don't count as gen 1. if you love the games enough youll know all the exploits to the point the game is a cakewalk. 'same game but shorter' probably makes more sense.
