>>36789520This is all good, but quite costly and time-ineffective. I lucked out on my recent playthrough of Gold and caught Entei with relative ease, Raikou was a bit more difficult and Suicune was an absolute pain in the ass.
Thankfully you can catch a level 29 Poliwag on Route 44, it knows Hypnosis right of the bat, evolves after getting one level and due to stat boost provided by badges can then outspeed Suicune.
If you're slower than any legendary beast then you can only perform a move if it chooses Roar - the decreased priority of this move makes it so that the flee is of decreased priority as well.
