An Alakazam is not going to write a poem. The thought might not even ever occur to it. A Metagross won't compose classical music, and if you TOLD it to compose classical music, I'm sure it would come up with something that mostly sounds lifeless and robotic.
It's like Pokémon inherently lack a certain....something. A quality that we humans have which is so important, humans have overcome the odds to become top of the foodchain in a world full of otherwise sapient monsters with magical powers.
"Human spirit" is the closest thing I can think to call it. I can't quite put my finger on it.
