Why is Pokémon's flavor text so weak? Biggest multimedia franchise in the world but the pokedex is constantly repeating lines across generations. I could sit here and spit out 50 bullshit lines about Alakazam right now. How hard could it be? Why doesn't gamefreak have any passion for this world?

Well Gen 7's Dex entries seem to be a step in the right direction as far as making the Pokemon world feel more like a lived in ecosystem.

It's kind of weird that they have these red in tooth and claw pokedex entries
but then masuda goes on saying how they don't want to talk about pidgey eating caterpie anymore because that's too graphic for modern tastes
I don't meme on masuda the way other people do, but this makes him sound REALLY out of touch

I kinda wish there was an in-depth Ability/Move Explainer/Analysis in the games.
It's a pain in the ass remembering what some specific moves do or interact with X ability without having to stop and look at Bulbapedo or something now.
