ORAS were an R/S remake with very few Emerald inclusions instead of a being an Emerald remake with characteristics of R/S, unlike how HGSS were a Crystal remake with characteristics of G/S.

Its true that HGSS had Crystal features (not all of them) but thats mainly because Crystal was and to this day remains the least changed/improved third version. Most of the changes were technical like moving sprites

Meanwhile Yellow changed Red/Green to follow the anime and thats why FRLG completely ignored Yellow
Emerald was a mixture between Ruby and Sapphire with several new features andadditions and thats why ORAS only has a few nods to Emerald

I don't mind ORAS not having battle frontier but the ''battle frontier project has started'' shit was completely uncalled for and felt really petty. Now if that was the intent or not idk. Heck I'd be ok with the game corner being replaced by something else but no.
ORAS is an alright game but a mediocre remake and a kick to the balls to those that grew up with gen 3.
