Honestly, Gen 2’s crossgen evos were fine. If anything Gen 4’s crossgen evolutions went overboard ruining Pokémon with shit like Rhyperior.

Maybe Probopass isn't cute nor badass, but has awesome details that makes his funny design in a cool Pokemon.

Reminds me those artifacts from RPG who protects a treasure inside a dungeon and every NPC tell you that you never must awake it if you don't want to die

People forget that Probopass is an artifact, and most artifacts are incredibly weird.

The only thing that makes Probopass different from the rest artifacts from Pokémon (Claydol, Sigilyph, Cofagrigus) is that Probopass is based on human-looked statues.

I could relate it with the Uncanny valley hypothesis.

Some pokemon could use an evo. I mean a lot of gen 7 mon didn't evolve and I'd love to see them get some love via evolution or prevo in a later gen. There's cross gen evos, cross gen prevos, cross gen split evos and I like them all

I think we don't really need them for now. Some stuff could still evolve, but Gen 4 added too many at once. We certainly don't need more Eevees though.

It's also amusing that Probopass has been in every game since Platinum besides HGSS and BW. I don't necessarily mind seeing this thing in every game, at least it's not Zubat or Abra or some overdone Kanto mon that needs a break.

Because this line fits in these games.

The compass/humanoid-statue/tropical-Pokémon combo make them adaptive in almost every region without seems them out of place. Even Pokémon GO has an Easter Egg about Nosepass when it appears in the map being the only Pokémon that points the north when you encounter it.

I'm glad Probopass got love from GF that some fans don't want to give it and I hope it remains that way with him and other ones

I've never honestly used Nosepass either. I pretty much only do nuzlockes these days too, and guess what? Nosepass may be in most regions, but it's rare as fuck. I have never ever got one in a nuzlocke.

I don’t understand why what’s basically Rhydon in full armor is apparently the worst thing ever when the line is basically armored creatures anyways. Rhyhorn going from full armor to Rhydon being almost fully exposed in the front was kind of shit, and though Rhyperior is quite bulky, it improves on Rhydon by filling in the front armor that was lost in the transition from Rhyhorn to Rhydon.

That wasn't a trade item though, or really an aesthetic departure because it worked out that if you preferred knights you would raise a Shelmet then trade it for a Karrablast to get Escavalier. The gimmick is that they swapped their evos, not had them based entirely around an item.
