There's a ton of pokemon that didn't need babies. It's always arbitrary. Scyther and Tauros can be young/larval stages but Electabuzz and Sudowoodo can't? Were there people who seriously didn't believe that Pikachu and Marill could be child stages?

I'd be all for baby pokemon IF gamefreak used them to create a split evolutionary line for Pokemon like they did with Tyrouge.

It baffles me that no more Baby pokemon were created just to give old Pokemon more variety to their forms. It'd be way easier and way more interesting. Similarly, Alolan forms had this opportunity as well, different regional evolution or some shit.

Suicune might like a leopard body-wise, but it has a snout way too reminiscent of a dog’s muzzle, which is why people probably read it as a dog.
Raiku is defintely just a sabertooth tiger, no denying that.

they were scrapped aka trashed project and redone with a completely new start
they are garbage looking betamons and non-canon since never revealed as official too, even the artist in charge of the legendary beats said those were scrapped for a reason

but, yes, i do agree with op, pokemon dodged a bullet with the artist deciding to make a much better trio from scrap
