>>36815097>Oak's LabYour Pokemon literally can't be in better shape for that fight, doesn't count.
>Route 22There's a short bit of grass separating you from Gary. Unless you grinded there and decided to explore without healing like an idiot (or you just decided to go that direction for no reason), you won't get caught in this trap.
>Cerulean CityGets you as you leave for the next route. This literally can't get you unless you're some sort of idiot who doesn't heal before going to a new area that's no doubt filled with trainers.
>S.S. AnneKind of. He blindsides you, sure, but it's right at the end of a dungeon, when you'd most expect a major fight.
>Rock Tunnel ExitLiterally never happened, you played yourself. Plus why would they put an encounter right before another one?
>Pokemon TowerJust like Cerulean City, you have no excuse to not be healed up before you journey up the tower.
>Silph co HQSimilar to S.S. Anne, except Silph has a healing area and you can literally fucking see him before you get there.
>Route 22Just a repeat of where he stops you the first time. No reason not to be healed at this point since the wild Pokemon here pose 0 threat.
>ChampionYeah.
1 real ambush, and a 2 ambushes that only kind of count. Meanwhile, Barry will just straight up blindsides you while you're exploring at least two towns. This isn't a Blue scenario where he gets you at the entrance to a new route, he's scripted to ram into you in the middle of two seperate fucking towns, as well as in the middle of the Pokemon League building. I've played plenty of Gen I and IV, and rest assured Barry is far, far more sadistic in where he fights you than Blue could ever hope to be.
