Nah, it's not. Mainline Pokemon games are so easy you can usually get around firing off moves from the weaker stat unless it's really fucking weak.

Because it meant restating every 200+ Pokemon and GF didn't want to do it. So they didn't, resulting in the shitshow that was Gen IV which ruined almost all Gen III or earlier Pokemon.
P/S split should have happened in Gen II alongside the special split.

Depends. I love all the moves Sceptile has access to and can utilize effectively due to their special nature, although, it's hilarious how shit Ghost was. So much to the point, they thought creating a physical ghost in gen 3 could save it.

It fixed about as many Pokemon as it broke. Before the split, you had shit like Gyarados who had to run Hidden Power as one of his primary attacks because his physical movepool was so awful.

You're a fucking idiot for giving up on Ice coverage on a mono Water type whose Atk isn't even that much higher than SpA in a generation that lets you have the equivalent of 252 EVs on every stat with no drawbacks.

Stat EXP was the proto EVs. Basically it meant that every Pokemon could have "252 EVs" in every stat, which many Pokemon, like Mixed Attackers were built around. Limiting the EVs to 510 made it so you could only max out 2 out of your 6 stats.

They had the possibility to fix Sceptile by making its mega physical and instead they went full retard and pushed its special attack instead. It doesn't even get any special attack besides STABs (one of which is fucking dragon pulse) and HP ffs.

I need it to fight back against water types, I'm not going to switch out and give even more free kills. Typhlosion had perfectly good special atk to make TPunch work but after everything that happened the guy is straight up dead in what, RU.
