You have "genwunners" who prefer Kanto and Johto above all else. Johtoddlers like Kanto a little less but love HG/SS. These types may also praise BW2.
Then you have the next generation of trainers whose "first" games (they may have been exposed to Red and Gold, but were too young to know what they were doing) were RSE. For them, FireRed/LeafGreen were okay, Ruby/Sapphire were okay, Emerald is the definitive way to play Hoenn and it's objectively one of the best Pokemon games ever made. Their sequel was Diamond/Pearl, which were pretty good, but Platinum, again, was the definitive version. Thus those fans end up liking Hoenn and Sinnoh. I'm not sure, but I doubt this group are the ones who hype HG/SS to heaven. This group is hated by the first group.
Then you have the Unovabortions, who love both BW and BW2 and treat their games as either the natural evolution of the previous series, or else its very pinnacle. Within this group, you have a camp that claims to hate every game after it, who form the vocal minority, and a silent majority who represent a demographic shift in the Pokemon fanbase who actually enjoy BW as much as every succeeding game. This group is hated by the second group.
Kalosperm and Alolasomes don't exist on 4chan---yet. But people who like Sun/Moon either claim to be genwunners, Johtoddlers, or Unova lovers. This group is hated by the second group.
Just a short speculative breakdown. I can't imagine anyone but nintendrones actually like all of the entries.
