>>36835777I'm here again as well, thank you for the reply - nice lucky trips, BTW.
I can see your point on Talonflame vis-a-vis Incineroar. No, really, I do. I don't know if I can agree entirely on a 1:1 comparison both because Incineroar is a starter and it's a tiger as a crowdpleaser animal (and in spite of all the fursuit accusations all the starters get, they will always be animal-based at heart), which ensures it'll always have a ready-made and frankly decent-sized fanbase - but it's a viable enough thought for the future since most starters much less mons in general get forgotten outside their native gen outside the Gen I starters and Greninja, no matter how bro-tier many are for a lot of people. I've been seeing it for those who warmed up to the cat as their bro-starter, that it was pretty happy times seeing all the haters get BTFO and them getting an amount of goodies this gen any mon, much less a starter, would love outside the major shillmons like Greninja, Zard, Lucario, etc. I can't fault their attitude entirely with the sheer hatred at the beginning of the gen and the owl fanbase, no matter the current shitposting, shitting on them (and shitting on the seal too, in fairness, although that's an interesting example of a starter that didn't get anything in attention to contrast against Incineroar).
Hum, it just may be my own personal viewpoint nominally clashing against yours but not in a really hostile way. I always took it as the cat never exactly going to be mega-popular or liked, but to me it seems to have risen a ton from rock bottom thanks to the good stuff and for those fans or those that warmed up to it, that it's all well and good in the future, they overall had a good time during a starter's usually one period of relevancy. I think that's a subconscious reason for the continuing hate against it even after two years. Once SM is done, that's it for most Alola mons. Incineroar got lucky *now*, no matter a potential future insignificance.
