I'm not too sure on why people can get upset by Smogon. It's not a rule which is enforced on everyone at all times. It's simply a suggested way to play.

It's like monopoly with house rules. Not everyone uses them and that's OK.

Can't they just add tiers in between existing tiers? If they run out of naming schemes, then make a KU (kind of used) tier in between OU and UU.

At this point it is safe to say that some these Pokémon were made to be shit on purpose as if Game Freak didn't want them to be of any use, even in story mode.
