They'd need an item specific Bank for that, that could associate an item with the current proper Gen ID and they don't seem to want to do that because they seem to want you to work for everything anew even though that just breeds cheaters because it ONLY punishes legit players to lock them out since cheaters will just cheat. They don't NEED to transfer any of this shit.
Same applies to locking out old Gen for competitive.
There's no money excuse not to allow it because all they have to do is exactly what they're doing now - require the newest game for competitive.
