Lets have another one of these. I'll kick it off by pre-empting some arguments by pasting my notes on the subject.

>The only argument for Charmander is pointing out that Charzard is the best Fire type in the game, which is easily countered by pointing out that being the best of a bad type doesn't mean that you're good. As for the actual arguments against it, even the classic 8 year old's argument of "unless you've farmed for levels, it's terrible against almost all of the gyms" is sufficient, although I will concede that it's incredibly easy to overlevel a Charmander once you're past Brock (Charmander demolishes the hoards of Zubats in Mt. Moon).
