We really can't make any judgements until 2019 Pokemon but I'm actually really pleased LGPE exists. I don't care for the Go mechanics, but if they are true to the direct and really intend to sideline casuals to the LG franchise then I'm all for it.

Even if it just marks the end of the excessive handholding in recent gens I would be pleased.
