Looking back the Grass and Water starters have all been consistently good (maybe in favor of water design wise just because Meganium exists) but I haven't picked a fire starter since Cyndaquil and that was only because I was young and edgy at the time. Infernape is the only decent looking one recently and he has the unfortunate stigma of being in the middle of the damn "firefighters".
Maybe a good fire starter gen 8? time will tell...
