Masuda said never since the main selling point was always the 3d graphics and as PBR sales showed them, not enough people are going to buy the battle sims just for custom challenges and arena's.

Colosseum/XD and Pokemon Battle Revolution. Yes, I know, these don't have the core 'Stadium' things like minigames and Gym Leader Castle, but whatever, they were 3D Pokemon battling which was the core selling point of the Stadium games, in a time when 3D Pokemon battling wasn't a thing in the main series.

They should have remade Emerald's Battle Frontier as a Stadium-esque game, with connectivity to XY and ORAS, minigames and Gym Leader castles for both Kalos and Hoenn, in addition to the other 7 facilities. Imagine playing the Battle Pyramid in glorious 3D through the television.
