What Gen 1 pokemon would be thought of as "too digimon-like" if released today?

For example, Machoke and Machamp have those human-esque belts that couldn't possibly be naturally occurring.

Likewise, Blastoise's cannons would be frowned upon as 'slapping on digimon weapon parts' if released as a starter today.

I like how people usually zero in on these usual suspects but almost never complain about Kadabra and Alakazam's spoons, or Hypno's pendulum.

Charizard is fine, because he evolved to have different natural things like wings. I'm more interested in things like power belts, random human-made pendulums and spoons.

Good examples. Even Primeape's leg shackles could be included too. This stuff doesn't happen after Gen 1.

Gen 1 had this specific design philosophy that's a mix of "keeping it simple" and "adding mysteryous accessories". They complement together well enough that I don't think even if stuff like primeape, jynx, machamp, etc. came out today they'd be compared to digimon. If anything, people would complain they're too simple, too childish, under-designed or whatever was the buzzword of the month.

I think stuff like bellsprout would get MASSIVE shitting on, and so would sunflora (even if not gen 1), tangela, raticate, etc. If toucannon got shitted on for being "literally my mom's X", I have no reason not to suspect half of gen 1 would too if it wasn't the original gen.

Machamp is a well designed fighting type pokemon with actually well-build body. Most other fighting type pokemon are ether skinny or has short legs.
