For a mythical who was released in the current gen, Zeraora doesn't get much attention or advertising (other than one movie no body cared or talking about).

Why is he such a failure?

He's the only mythical of the gen who got promotion and merch past its movie time, though. If anything, it's the most marketed mythical in a while. Plus, it can't be a failure if it's popular. What are you talking about?

The only exposure we have to it is the event giveaway, and Zeraora is hardly an exciting mythical in the vein of Magearna or Marshadow. He's mixed, he's frail, he's a faster, worse Tapu Koko.

In Japan, he is noteworthy as being defeated by Pikachu, being the mascot of the new TCG set, appearing in the main series anime for a rematch with Pikachu, and being the face of a very popular Pokemon movie. He's getting the Lucario treatment, and it's horrible.

because the zeraora movie was forgettable shit.
the marshadow movie was shit too, but people didn't know that going in so there was a lot of anticipation about it beforehand.
