>>36864435>The earlier generations have BOTH animalistic and purely humanoid styles but Gen 6-7 have mostly have animal-based designs. But they don't. The majority of fighting types in all gens you named is animal-based. Hitmons? But Poliwrath is a tadpole. Mankey line are pig-monkeys. Heracross is a bug. Hariyama and Medicham? There's a fighting chicken, a fungaroo. Gallade? There's the Beloved Steel Furry, a frog and a monkey. Gen 5 literally has the most humanoid fighting mons of all gen. Gen 6 barely has any Pokemon at all, bug and ground fans cry. Gen 7 has Marshadow. While it is not false to say that earlier gens have more, it's dumb to say that the animals aren't the majority in each one, and it's dumb to say that they disappeared. Your "grotesque look defined them" makes no sense because THEY NEVER WERE THE MAJORITY. You don't definite something by being the minor part in something, just like Psychic types aren't all "thin mons with HUGE heads" because Abra and Ralts line exist. You know what "defines" something? Saying that Poison types are all green, purple or blue.
And don't even try to use the Machop line as a point, they have lizard faces and Machop has a fucking tail too. If they don't count then neither does Hawlucha since its beak is a mask and its mouth isn't on its beak, it's just a dude in a costume.
