You could perhaps discuss sex? And that's the mildest I can get there, I don't think pokemon needs excessive violence. You could have more heavy themes lower than T, though.

Go away with typical tropes of pokemon, and make it about, say, the pokemon underworld, or a war, or hell, post apocalypse in one of the ultra wormhole scenarios where an evil team succeeds, all that needs to be there is the same battling mechanic for battles

So any of that basically. The hypothetical T-rated Pokémon game would definitely have violence in it (not cartoon violence but actual violence).

Going off of a good example like Jak 2, there'd be no more kiddified themes and messages. I want a serious game again but that's it, whereas I've seen others who want to go straight to a gorey M-rating.
