this is far too much of a blanket statement.
There are some poor designs, some of the worst. But it also contains some of the very best.
Whimsicott is flawless. Chandelure is universally loved. Volcarona is best bug. A few more top tier designs after those too.
Why are the poor ones so bad? I would guess the whole quantity over quality ethos led to that.

I like most of them but I wish they scrapped trade evolutions and found ways to get some of the later strong pokemon earlier so I could use them in my team like Golurk.

Eh I liked allot of the designs and some are growing on me. Majority of them looked terrible as a sprite though. Druddigon actually looks decent but it's sprite left a bad first impression
