To sum up, god mode breeding, that's too much for noobs. The only good thing to fix it is increase the probability of 100% of getting the right iv in the stats instead of a stupid rerolling or totally remove the iv. In that case you still have to work on the abilities, egg moves, nature and gender, so the breeding mechanic would be finally fixed.

honestly it would only take a few quality of life changes to make competitive pokemon more accessible to a much wider audience. VGC could be a much stronger selling point of pokemon if they just made it easier to get to; instead its behind walls like iv's, game exclusive move tutors, bad ev training methods, what have you.

Everything's pokegen'd or actually autismo trained anyway. There's no variety as it stands now.
The system has completely failed in what it was originally designed to ensure. If anything EV's should be removed from the game and replaced with a system that can't be influenced by the player. That way you get the split between wild and trained pokemon that was the original intent of the system but without the bullshit.

The original intent of stat exp is to make pokemon raised by a trainer more powerful than pokemon of an equivalent level in the wild. This original intent can still be achieved while removing 252/252/4 from the game for the rest of eternity.

This can only apply do IV's because everyone what to see them full (unless your pokemon don't use physical attacks or have Trick Room, in which case Attack and Speed respectively should have 0 IV's). Meanwhile EV's have a lot more room for customization.

Just get rid of IVs, make a Nature changer NPC like Day Care Couple where you have to 'train' your Pokemon to behave different, takes certain amount of steps to make this happen. I like the ball swap idea, but I think they'd have to lock special balls, ie if only can get mon in say Safari you can't swap out Safari ball.

You're telling me that the original intent wasn't so that a Pokémon trained in a specific way becomes better at the specific thing you trained it for? It makes perfect sense, EVs are the sum of a Pokémon's experiences and how the trainer raised it, and IVs and natures are its genetic, inborn traits.

As for Nexus I have no idea what that is and I'm going to guess that it's a USM thing because I slipped it in any case it's still probably more grinding.

But at least you are going to get options, doing something repetitive for some pokemon and another repetitive thing for the others is better than doing 1 repetitive thing (breeding) for every pokemon.

And I'm pretty sure OP want these options to be faster than breeding.

Make them cost 1BP and it gives you a reason to farm the Battle Tower. It would still be time consuming, but it would let you quickly tweak pokemon that are "close."

I would be okay with these if they were cheap and the result was random. It would be clunky to have 25 nature items (Hasty Drink, Adamant Drink, etc.) and again it would still promote breeding, but be an option if you needed to tweak an existing pokemon (you bred Modest but later changed your team and now need Timid).

This trivializes the point of hidden abilities. Imagine if Incineroar could have had its hidden ability from the start. VGC would have been wildly different.

I think it was a fake leak from before SM, but there was supposedly going to be a system where pokemon could "mentor" other pokemon. Like if you fought in a double battle next to a pokemon that knew an egg move you could learn, you could have a chance to learn that egg move after leveling up. Seems like it'd be an interesting way to do it without just turning egg moves into generic move tutor/move relearner moves.
