Just give it up. Pokemon will just keep getting shittier and shittier with every game (mainline or spinoff). The sooner you accept that fact, the sooner you'll stop being disappointed.

I have zero hopes for gen 8. At least the first pair of games will most likely be terrible, as pretty much every first pair of games in a new system have been. After USUM, I've lost hope in third versions as well. My only hope is that somehow the games do poorly and GF has to work hard for gen 9. That, however, is very unlikely to happen

Gen 8, whether It's like Gen 6 or 7 or actually good won't matter because the launch title is going to be shit and they will release the objectively better version with more content later, To those waiting for 2019, if you actually want to wait for a good game, try 2020 to 2022 for your chance.
