Originally they removed shit because of technical limitations but there was no excuse for that after moving to the 3DS because there was 2 - 4 times the space waiting for the content to fill it. They just needed to take the time to do it right. X/Y were excusable being the first time they worked in 3D, but none of the other 3DS games have that excuse.
S/M specifically were also just a beta rushed out for an anniversary no one but them gave a fuck about. They never should've seen release in 2016.
Almost everything good about S/M was introduced in X/Y so they don't get the credit for it and S/M brought about changes to systems like breeding which made it worse. Tauros, while part of a good system in Pokéride doesn't appropriately replace the bike since there's no option to auto turn on run to move at top speed like with a bike.
Not being able to specifically use your Pokémon for Pokéride is also an issue. You can't even modify the existing ones even though there's an empty ranch there that would've been perfect for some gear customization for both your ugly ride get up and the Pokémon which would've made them feel more like your Pokémon.
Not keeping all of the outfits from X/Y is another issue. Whilr par for the course in a series that dozens of pieces of content, it's still not acceptable.
Not enough new Pokémon species again and the arguments brainlets make for quality over quantity are bullshit - all generations are about equal in quality overall. And of course they couldn't even be bothered to make new formes (there should have been more Megas and more Gen Alolan formes, end of discussion) for the follow up save Necrozma.
We know for a fact that they can do way fucking better than this.
